2014-23. * New Chart (NC): 61 “Ølveskysten fra Sponavika til Støaneset med Hyttevågen”

New Chart 61 “Coast of Ølve from Sponavika to Støaneset with Hyttevågen” is a nautical chart for navigational purposes along Ølve (municipiality of Kvinnherad, Hordaland, Norway). Its larger scale and more manageable format when compared to the official Norwegian nautical chart NO 22 also helps to support navigation in small craft in the bays and fjords of Ølve.

The design of chart 61 is akin to older Norwegian charts. It has been produced with Norwegian Datum of 1948 (NGO48) and is referred to the Oslo prime meridian. The difference to WGS84 is explained in a note on the chart. Its contents have been corrected through Efs through July 2014.

Scale: 1:35000
Format: ISO A4
Datum: NGO 1948
Small corrections: 3 August 2014
Corner coordinates:
59° 58.3′ N, 5° 00.4′ W of Oslo (SW corner)
60° 01.2′ N, 4° 50.9′ W of Oslo (NE corner)

Chart 61 is in Norwegian language.

  • 31 SKGB, Belegungsplan der Steganlage
  • 731 (new: 31R) SKGB, Gekaufte Boxen

2013-190. Nautischer Informationsdienst BSH: Cancellation of German Charts and Publications

Effective 1 January 2013, the Bundesamt für Seeschifffahrt und Hydrographie (BSH) will narrow the focus of its publishing of printed nautical publications to the most important continental European harbour approaches in the North and Baltic Sea. The resulting withdrawal of nautical charts and sailing directions is based on an in-depth study of demand for these products and of the economics of their production.

  • The BSH will cancel its nautical publications covering the sea areas in the Gulf of Bothnia (14 and 15), off the east coast of the United Kingdom (22 and 23), the UK and French Channel coast (25) as well as the south coast of Norway (24), and will discontinue its correction service for official UK publications in the areas affected. Selected plotting sheets and small-scale general, planning, and fishery boundary charts covering the North Atlantic and Arctic Ocean will also be cancelled.

Oktober 2012

2012-178. * New Chart (NC): 50T “Trail Map of Central Ølve”

New map 50T “Trail Map of Central Ølve” is a map of trails in Ølve (municipiality of Kvinnherad, Hordaland, Norway) at scale 1:40000 (ISO A4). It is centred on the entrance to Hyttevågen and extends approximately 8 km north–south and 12 km east–west.

There are early plans to issue trail maps of Ølve in significantly larger scales such as 1:25000 at a later date. Map 50T might be generalised to an index map after such maps would have been published.

There are also plans to make cartographic improvements to map 50T and re-issue it as map 50. There is currently no fixed timetable for such improvements.

Date of first publication: 31 August 2012

2012-172. * Chart 61T: NM completeness

The 1st edition of chart 61T “Ølveskysten fra Hamarhaugflua til Støaneset med Hyttevågen” bears the small corrections date 15 January 2006. Arne’s NM have now reproduced all chart updates that were previously issued by Kartverket Norway up to and including Efs 13/12. Chart 61T is therefore now revised up to and including 15 July 2012. The following is a list of all NM that need to be applied to the 1st edition of chart 61T to get it up to date.

Remark: Arne’s NM are not checked by a hydrographic office or any other entity. You should consider cross-checking these chart updates with your copies of the official Norwegian Efs and chart NO 22.
